Hand Technique: Strike

Strike is one of seven Nia hand techniques that offer self-healing and conditioning benefits to your hands and entire body. This move trains you to use the martial art style technique of creating positive tension in the hands to protect the elbow and shoulder joint. Learn to start and stop the strke, activating the inner arch of the hand (thumb side) while drawing the opposite elbow back in 'ready position.' Contiinue below Tips and video.

Tip:  Play with a variety of dynamics as you strike: slow/fast, high/low, across/across. Push with the heel of the hand as you draw your four fingers back.  Use strikes to develop precision, core power and to release pent up tension.  Watch and move to the video below to bring this hand technique alive!
