Releve 1

Releve´ is one of Nia's eight foot techniques that offer self-healing and conditioning to your body from the ground up. This move trains you rise up like a dancer to the ball of the foot. The key is to rise or 'roll up' with a natural heel-ball-toe motion keeping your weight even and toes relaxed.  Focus on decelerating as you lower your foot to sustain power and balance. Tips: Practice by isolating the move, then adding your hands and arms to integrate you whole dancing body. Gain movement skill by moving slow or fast, rising up and down in the same footprint or by moving in space. Watch and move to the video below to bring your practice alive!
