Hand Technique: Pumps


Pumps is one of seven Nia hand techniques that offer self-healing and conditioning benefits to your hands, wrists and fingers.  This move trains you to open and close your hand with the idea that you are 'pumping' chi (energy). Learn to activate the entire palm of your hand to create a squeeze and release dynamic. Contiinue below Tips and video.


Tip:  Play with pumping slow and strong, quick and agile, playful and expressive. Think, "pump-pump, squeeze-squeeze, and squeeze-release."  Use pumps to release a build-up of tension in your hands, arms, shoulders and neck muscles.
