Outward Block

Outward Block 1

Outward Block is an arm technique designed to increase the strength, fexibility and agility of the arms, shoulders and core of the body. This is a move that teaches you to pay attention to the alignment of the upper armbones and forearms. Begin in and return to ready position. Move one arm across the core of the body, tune into the hands to spiral the forearms bones up toward the outside of your face "defend" a martial art style blow. Return the hand, forearms and elbows along the same path to ready position.  Choose any stance and tune into the power of your base. Continue below for Tip and Video! 

 

Tip:  Practice with a variety of speed (slowing down to gain fluid strength) and range of motion that suits your body's way. To protect your shoulder joint, keep your arms within "the picture frame" and draw the opposite elbow back. On your blocking arem, pay attention to the "right angle" at your forearm and elbow. Energize with the martial, dance and healing arts to gain movement skill.
